Our Story

About Satvikam

A journey from devotion to fragrance — rooted in the sacred traditions of Bharat.

Satvikam began not as a business, but as a feeling — the feeling you get when you step into an ancient temple and the air is alive with the scent of roses, sandalwood, and burning dhoop.

We asked ourselves: why has this experience become so rare? Why have synthetic fragrances replaced the sacred scents that our ancestors created with such care and devotion? And more importantly — how do we bring it back?

That question became our purpose. Satvikam — derived from the Sanskrit word Sattva, meaning purity, truth, and goodness — is our answer. We create fragrances that are not just pleasant to the nose, but nourishing to the soul.

What Guides Us

Our Philosophy

सत्

Satya (Truth)

We never use synthetic fragrances or artificial ingredients. What we say is in the bottle, is in the bottle.

शुद्ध

Shuddhi (Purity)

Every ingredient is chosen in its purest form — nature's finest, undiluted and unadulterated.

परम्

Parampara (Tradition)

We honour the ancient distillation methods that have been practiced in India for over five centuries.

सेवा

Seva (Service)

Our work is an offering. We serve the craft, the artisans, and the seekers who trust us with their sacred moments.

The Craft

How Our Attars Are Made

01

Selection

We select the finest natural ingredients — sacred flowers, precious spices, and rare botanicals — each chosen for its purity and spiritual significance.

02

Distillation

Using the ancient deg-bhapka method — a copper still is filled with flowers and water, heated gently, and the vapour is captured in sandalwood oil. This slow, patient process preserves the true soul of each ingredient.

03

Maturation

Our attars are never rushed. After distillation, they rest and mature — allowing the sandalwood base and floral essence to marry completely. This patience gives our attars their depth and longevity.

04

Bottling

Each bottle is hand-filled, inspected, and sealed with care. We use minimal, beautiful packaging — worthy of gifting, gentle on the earth.

Looking Ahead

Our Vision

Satvikam is more than attars. We envision a full range of spiritual and traditional products — agarwood, dhoop, Bhimsen Kapoor, havan samagri, and more — each crafted with the same devotion and purity that defines our attars.

Our dream is to become the most trusted name in spiritual Indian products — a brand that our grandparents would recognise and our grandchildren will cherish.
